Inspirational Sunday :D

“What do you want? You can’t want to be happy, because that’s too easy and too boring. You can’t want only to love, because that’s impossible. What do you want? You want to justify your life, to live it as intensely as possible. That is at once a trap and a source of ecstasy. Try to be alert to that danger and experience the joy and the adventure of being that woman who is beyond the image reflected in the mirror.”
-Paulo Coelho

That's right. Lets be satisfied. Just live life how God wants you to.

These boys here go by the name of the bandana-its. We got a little surprise visit that included our window getting a little love and a photo shoot (and almost getting my face drawn on). It was really very entertaining. If only I knew who they were....really I have no idea who they are.

My first funnel cake. I am so proud :] It is a lot of fun- I would recommend it next time you have a squirt bottle full of sweetened batter and a huge pan full of hot oil.

.:11:.

Free concerts at Sammy's=sweet music to my ears.

.:10:.

Wandering the halls of school. My roommate is so gracious to let me follow her when I aimlessly meander around campus.

I love learning Korean!

Another Great Day On Campus.

Inspirational Sunday

"If you look closely at a tree you'll notice its knots and dead branches, just like our bodies.
What we learn is that beauty and imperfection go wonderfully together."
Matthew Fox
I chose this quote because it is the exact reason why I love trees. They are the most magestic, lovely things to set your eyes on. I did an art project for my Book of Mormon class awhile back about the atonement. I twisted and bent copper wire into a gnarled tree. It represented that through the atonement we can become these magnificant beings. We always have trials and struggles in our lives, but it is those experiences that make us into something great. If you look closely at a tree, you will see cracks, knotches, cuts and bent branches. As soon as you take all those imperfections and put them together you see something grand. We like those trees have gone through many things, but if we have faith we will come out to be more beautiful than we were before.

Inspirational Sunday

"For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone."

. Audrey Hepburn .

Future Planning in Session

This is what I and a few good friends and roommates did on this splendid day. We planned our future. As you see above we plan on working on a cruise to save up money to travel the world and already have our jobs picked out. Here is a list of jobs we would have on the cruise *made by Cali:

"Anna is the landscape specialist! Abbey is the cupcake store specialist! Carisa is the disc jockey! Mindy is the assistant beverage manager! And duh I will either be the assistant executive housekeeper... ew wait I might have to clean. Never mind.. how about the cruise relation specialist?!! Duh I am so good at relationships! Oh man, Royal Caribbean is going to love us!"

Don't worry we are not completely unrealistic, we are making a list of places in order of when we want to see them, we are calculating dates and money costs. We even have back up plans in case the cruise business doesn't work out. Like getting sponsored.

We are going to be very cultured and well traveled ladies soon.

I can't help it that ice cream is so photogenic. How could I pass up taking a picture of this 2 gallon beauty at the store? I am not obsessed; I just want people to know that if they have 12 kids they only have to buy one thing of ice cream.

Who would have thought ice cream could give good advice too.

Very Special Indeed

Today was a very special day.
Today my friend Lauren was baptized. At the same time I was walking home from work, she was being baptized. I prayed the whole walk home, sending my love and support. When I got home, I attempted to skype with my family after the baptism-which really means I could see and hear them perfectly, but they could not see me at all or hear me half the time. It was so wonderful to see everyone gathered in my home back in Arizona. It was very touching. The missionaries had even prepared a special song just for her. Sadly, as they were about to sing this lovely tune, my skype cut out and would not reconnect for awhile...I am sad I missed this time, but I do need to report that I am overyly happy too. My heart swells with joy to know my dear friend has found the gospel and my family was there to love and care for her as much as I do. They are some of the most special people in my life.

Hey you, yes you!

I want to start this little questionaire with a story of one of the many adventures I traveled on today:

Tanya, this sweet girl in the purple shared my enthusiasm today. I told her I saw President Clark and I have always wanted to take a picture with him. Hey, he is pretty much famous here OK. As I am telling her I saw him in the MC, she got all excited and encouraged racing up the stairs of the library to meet him in person. As I stop to get out my camera, she is keeping an eye on this couple. As I am balancing a camera, backpack and jacket in my arms she exclaims suddenly, "They are walking away! I'm going to chase after them!" So she books it. I am trying to catch up when she turns around and whispers to me "I'm going to yell his name right now". Which she does. And that is where this adventure ends happily. We got to chat and take a picture with the president and his wife. It was another great day.

Now on to the questions!

Do any of you know Sammy? Because he is a dang blasted genius in the business world, in my personal opinion. He owns this hamburger joint in Provo and Rexburg named Sammy's, and let me tell you the man knows what he is doing. He is brilliant at marketing! I have been observing the tactics of this restaurant, and it just blows my mind how everything works. If I could do an internship with this team of brilliant people, I would in a heart beat.

Is it possible just to shadow everyone I admire for the rest of my life? As in that be my job for the rest of my life: a permanent intern. I'm serious. Can you imagine all the things you could learn just by living in the shadow of cultures and people you admired? I could learn 20 languages, history, symbolism, music, sewing, arts, climbing, yoga, flying, photography, business tactics, anything my heart desired just by watching and doing as they do.

Anyone know of a place where I could trade my camera in to get a lower price on a better one and then buy it? Because I want a new Canon camera.

Do you know of any good books that tell what each flower means? Because my new obsession is flower symbolism.

Happy Chinese New Year!!!!!!

.:3:.

Confession and a warning.
I'm totally addicted to this 365 project.
And you will be too once you try it.
This is my favorite alley (I know, I know this sounds suuuuper creepy, but it's really not-I promise). It is just old and full of life. You can't say you don't like it until you try it.

.:2:.

I looked out the window and what did I see?Ice forming on the glass, so I stayed inside to stay happy :]

Today I had black-bean brownies courtesy of the best girls next door. It wasn't a sweet, it was our daily fiber intake! I would highly recommend going on daily adventures and talking to new and old friends-it makes life so much more entertaining (and always gives you stories to tell).

.:1:.

I know this is not the best quality photo ever, but I had to take a quick one of the adventure I took yesterday! I got the chance to go onto the new BYUI center stage! It was so massive and empty (at the moment) and I was in awe.

Inspiration 4

Holy Moly! I forgot to do my Inspirational Quote Sunday! Here it is late (and I will give you two as a special treat):

"If I leave here tomorrow would you still remember me? For I must be traveling on now 'cause there's too many places I've got to see" -Free Bird by Lynard Skynard

"Tea pot is on, the cups are waiting, favorite chairs anticipating. No matter what I have to do, my friend there's always time for you." -Author Unknown
