All I can say is wow. Has it really already been two years since I started college? Am I really 20 already? Am I really at the place that I am at? I guess the answer is yes. Here I am at that moment in time when I blink in astonishment that I am already on to the next big thing in my life. But I do not want to continue without first remembering all the moments that have truely mattered most and have made me into a happier completed person.
1. I finally have my associates! Yup I walked with it last Saturday in my blue gown waving good-bye to those foundations I will never have to do again!
2. I have turned the big 20. But do not fear, I can use the excuse of this is my first year in adulthood so I still make stupid mistakes and it be ok.
3. I gained some pretty good friendships. You are meant to meet everyone one for a reason. I surely did meet and live with two of the most special girls. Kylynn and Erin are the smartest, most hard working and loving roommates I have yet lived with. I shared with them some of the most tender moments I have yet lived. We cared, laughed, cried and rode our bikes into horizon together. We shook our fists at responsibility and we encouraged each other to be diligent. Who needs to go shopping when you have an Erin to trade clothes with who tells you how pretty you look that day? How can I ask for a better adventure buddy than Kylynn? I owe them a lot for teaching me how to be stronger, laugh at things more and just plain old be me. Thanks ladies for loving me. You two hold a very dear place in my heart.
4. Ran the midnight 5K, Bolder Boulder 10K, and finished a Lazy man Iron man.
5. Learned how to batik, knit, embroider, sew plaid shirts, hoodies, dress pants and quilt.
6. I went to the beautiful Colorado and Utah and gained some amazing memories.
7. Discovered a new food group called frozen yogurt
8. Had a hands down awkward moment when stubbling upon the hidden park my roommates were set on finding and almost walking over a couple making out. You can say I did not get to go on the merry-go-round that night...
9. Educated the roommates on the importance of washing strawberries before you eat them: because [Mexican] pee is all over them- I wouldn't wash my hands either if I was out there.
10. Saw little ducklings on one of the many rides to nature park
11. Learned first hand that beach cruisers do not belong on skate parks no matter how dark it is outside with no one else to see you biff but your good friend (also happened at mentioned skate park)
12. Slept in a tent in the side yard of our house (benefit of living in a moldy basement of a house, you get yards!)
13. Tasted fried coke. Yes it can be fried. No it is not actual soda, it is flavored batter.
14. I learned how to live hard and to love hard.
Sadly, I said some goodbyes to sweet, dear friends whom I will not see for awhile. But that is ok, I know I will see them again soon. But to all those going on missions for the
Church I wish you luck and possibly I will see you out there. Those of you continuing with school, good luck becoming a dang blasted genius. Those of you having finished school, have fun being an adult in the real world, I wish you success.
cheers. xoxo.
