the spinning philosophy

We are now getting to the fun things in my textiles class. The first was day of learning new skills was last Thursday and we had a lady come teach us to spin and weave yarn! It was soo cool! Seriously, I could see myself doing this. The whole class got to try out the loom and weave part of this rug/blanket, but only I and another girl were brave enough to try the wheel. As my turn approached I was feeling confident until the wool was put in my hand and the wheel started turning. I thought I handled it pretty well until the nice lady stopped me pulled out my cord I just spun and held it up. She asked me if I knew what it was, I looked at her with a blank stare. She called it a telephone cord and promptly asked if I knew what that meant in the spinner's world. I replied no and she gave me the meaning of the telephone cord in your spun wool. A cord means that I like to have control in life. She then told me how to fix this problem: relax, chill and let things go. But it doesn't end there. In another class, we were talking about how to keep in mind that each day is a puzzle piece to the eternity (based off of Uchtdorf's talk). We discussed the importance of praying on your knees every morning and night and keeping an open prayer in your heart through out the day. Then the second piece of advice I received to keep the puzzle piece perspective was to relax, chill and let things go. Exact. Same. Word. Use. Ok, Ok! I get it! I need to relax, chill and let things go. Well come life I am ready to chill, relax and let things go.

p.s. I am learning how to knit! Yellow scarf here I come!
